General Terms and Conditions (GTC) – Restaurant Rechberg 1837

1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions govern the legal relationship between guests and BarKaffeeFeldhof GmbH, the operator of Restaurant Rechberg 1837 in Zurich.

2. Conclusion of Contract

The contract is concluded upon acceptance of the offer—whether for gastronomic services, the rental of premises, or services outside the restaurant such as catering, events, or consulting. The scope of services to be provided by Restaurant Rechberg 1837 results from the verbal or written reservation or order confirmation. There is no entitlement to a specific table or room. Deviating individual agreements remain reserved.

3. Prices and Payment Obligation

Prices are stated in CHF and, unless otherwise noted, include statutory VAT. BarKaffeeFeldhof GmbH reserves the right to make minor price adjustments, e.g., due to changes in raw product costs. For reservations amounting to CHF 1,000 or more, payment by invoice (payment term: 14 days) is preferred. Payment methods: cash, EC, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Twint, Swiss Lunch-Check. Other payment methods upon request.

4. Vouchers, Promotions, and Discounts

Vouchers, discounts, promotions, and similar offers cannot be combined and are not transferable to other programs. They are only redeemable if stated at the time of reservation and at least 24 hours before the visit, so verification is possible before arrival. In principle, vouchers, discount cards, and comparable benefits are not valid on Fridays, Saturdays, or during concerts and special events. Exceptions apply to paid value vouchers. All vouchers are valid for a maximum of 5 years. Paid value vouchers can be extended up to 5 years beyond the issue date, unless another date is noted. Extensions of other vouchers or promotions beyond their expiration date are excluded. The restaurant reserves the right to refuse vouchers if conditions are not met.

5. Advance or Down Payment

For groups of 8 or more, a down payment of 50% of the minimum consumption may be required. Payment within 14 days. Exclusive rental of Rechberg 1837 is subject to seasonal minimum consumption requirements; external services (e.g., musicians’ fees) are excluded from this.

6. Reservation Adjustments

Adjustments possible up to 2 business days before the event.
Final number of participants: at least 36 hours before the booking.
In case of deviations, the restaurant reserves the right to charge compensation for basic costs.

7. No-Show & Cancellations

  • 1–6 persons: free cancellation up to 36 hours prior.

  • 7+ persons: free cancellation up to 10 calendar days prior, by 12:00 noon.

  • Later cancellation: compensation of at least CHF 85.00 per person, or 100% of the quoted price in the case of a “No-Show.”

8. Cancellation Policy for Caterings & Exclusive Bookings

  • Up to 4 weeks prior: free of charge

  • Up to 14 days prior: reimbursement of costs already incurred

  • Up to 7 days prior: 50% of the quoted price

  • From 7 days prior: 100% of the quoted price

9. Withdrawal by the Restaurant

Withdrawal by the restaurant is communicated in writing, by email, or by phone. Possible without giving reasons up to 10 days prior to the event. Objectively justified withdrawals are possible at any time (e.g., force majeure, false information, unlawful content).

10. Food and Beverages

Food and beverages consumed in the restaurant or at events catered by the restaurant must be obtained exclusively through the restaurant. Exceptions (e.g., corporate events) with corkage or service fees require a written agreement. Exceptions: baby food, pet food, and only for their intended consumption.

11. Menu and Offer

The food and beverage offer on this website or elsewhere online may not always correspond to the actual offer. Seasonal conditions, weather, demand, or raw product availability may cause short-term changes. Prices displayed on-site are binding; minor deviations from online prices are possible.

12. Allergens / Food Information

Our dishes are prepared with the utmost care. Nevertheless, traces of allergens cannot be completely excluded. Any allergies or intolerances should, if possible, be indicated 48h before the reservation but must be declared at the latest when ordering. The restaurant accepts no liability for allergic reactions unless clearly attributable to gross negligence or intentional behavior.

13. Credit Card Guarantee

For a first visit, the restaurant reserves the right to request a credit card guarantee. Processing is handled securely via the industry-standard reservation tool Aleno (Aleno AG, Technoparkstrasse 1, CH-8005 Zurich) and its partners. More information: https://www.aleno.me/de/ppa. A charge will only be made if no-show or late-cancellation conditions under the GTC are violated. Alternatively, a verifiable billing address in Switzerland attributable to the booking person may be provided.

14. Rules of Conduct

Smoking is prohibited in the restaurant. Quiet hours from 22:00 to 07:00 must be observed around the restaurant out of consideration for neighbors. Heavily intoxicated or impaired guests may be asked to leave. Liability is excluded.

15. Liability

Liability for slight or medium negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Guests are liable for damages caused. Third parties booking on behalf of others are jointly liable.

16. Applicable Law

Should any provision of these GTC be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction is Zurich.
